We are the Black family, two adults, 5 kids, plus how ever many students we have at the time! We've been hosting since 2017. My childhood family hosted 4 times and I loved having new "siblings."
Joe is a religion teacher by early morning, a wall and bridge engineer by day who loves board games, reading, singing and the piano. He speaks Spanish and is trying to help the kids learn their chosen languages.
Jenni is a creator of stories, music and video content. She loves organizing, digitizing photos, exercising and eating plants. She's learning the Karen language from the people of Burma.
Xela, our oldest, write songs and sing, read and draw. She's learning Mandarin Chinese.
Charlotte is our comedian who loves to read, collect small toys, draw and spend time with friends. Learning Portuguese is her language of choice.
Anne is our ventriloquist in training who loves to read, make paper dolls come to life, Taco Bell and all things France. Yes, she's learning French.
Claira is excitement rolled up into a girl! With a heart of gold, and a love of play and she's joining Dad in learning Spanish.
Samuel is our adored caboose who loves cars, superheroes and lighthouses. He picks up on words and phrases he hears in any language :)
Mix that up with 1-3 foreign exchange students and we have a houseful! Culture sharing is our favorite pastime as we travel the world in our home.
We wish to give tips and insights to exchange students to create an extraordinary time during their adventure and we love hosting. We are excited to help other individuals and families create an extraordinary experience they love.
Welcome to the adventure!
